The Association 23rd of June is a locally owned and operated business of women from San Pedro de Vilcabamba, a small farming community located in the province of Loja in southern Ecuador. Our recycled paper company began in 1998 with the help of a volunteer from the Peace Corps and currently we have nine female associates working at the Autonomous Association 23rd of June. Each week we collect used paper from the local businesses and schools, grind it into a pulp, and hand craft paper products. The distinctive feature of the products is the unique flower designs. The flowers are all hand-picked from either our own gardens or from areas where they are growing wild in our community and then dried the old fashioned way, in-between book pages! Once dried they are then hand glued, petal by petal, onto our products in different designs. All profits from the sales of these items go directly to help better the standard of living of the women and their families as well as strengthen the association.

Our Products

We make a wide range of products from recycled paper utilizing the local plants and flowers as decorations. We offer books, agendas, cards, bags, boxes and stationery. Additionally, customers can special order items such as wedding invitations and specialty gift bags. Each product is made by hand and no two products are exactly alike.
